Subject: Lotus Traveler HA and load balancer
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Notes Traveler
Technical Area: Install
Platform: Not Applicable
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Always

I have 2 stand-alone Traveler servers that I set up HA on. We then set up a load balancer in front of them as noted in the documentation for failover.

I changed the external server URL in the server document to use the load balancer url for both servers (ex. trav.xyz.com).

If I turn off the traveler and http services on 1 of the traveler servers, "failover" to the other does not work. The only way it works is if I remove the traveler profile on the device and recreate it using the load balancer URL.

So my conclusion is in order to truly use HA, device profiles would need removed and recreated using the load balancer URL. Is this a correct statement? Did we miss something in setting up the load balancer?
